ReSkate Mods: What to Install and How
A practical guide to ReSkate mods: the categories, where to find them, how to install and enable them, and what to do when one breaks.

ReSkate mods are community-made add-ons that run on top of the ReSkate mod platform for skate. This guide covers the mod categories worth knowing, where trusted mods are posted, how to install and toggle them through the in-game menu, and how to keep a mod list from breaking after updates.
What ReSkate mods can do
A ReSkate mod changes one layer of the game: how it looks, what you can unlock, how it plays, or where you skate. The categories most mods fall into:
- Maps: new parks, plazas, and recreated spots from older Skate games, loadable on demand.
- Cosmetics and unlocks: gear, boards, and character options, including unlock-all packs.
- Graphics: ReShade-style color, lighting, and post-processing tweaks.
- Gameplay and realism: physics adjustments, speed changes, and scoring tweaks.
- Scripts and tools: camera tools, replays, session helpers, and quality-of-life utilities.
- Modpacks: bundles other players put together so a whole setup installs at once.
None of these exist in the base game. skate. is a pre-alpha title with a thin official feature set, which is exactly why the mod layer got popular so fast after ReSkate appeared in October 2026.
Where to find mods that are not junk
Get ReSkate mods from places with a name attached. The ReSkate Discord is where most authors post first, the project GitHub lists tooling and documentation, and Thunderstore hosts skate. packages with version history. A mod posted by its author, with a changelog and a version number matching your ReSkate release, is the safe default.
Be picky about everything else. Search-engine results for "reskate mods" already surface repack sites, and a repacked archive is the easiest way to end up running someone else's software. If a download page has no author, no version, and a big green button, skip it. Our safety page goes deeper on telling real files from fakes.
How to install ReSkate mods
Installing a mod is a folder copy plus one menu toggle:
- Install ReSkate first; the download guide covers this in five minutes.
- Unzip the mod into the mods folder your launcher manages (the launcher shows its path in settings).
- Start skate. through the ReSkate launcher, not the Steam shortcut.
- Press Insert in game to open the ReSkate menu.
- Toggle the mod on under its category, then restart the session if it changes maps or scripts.
That is the whole routine. There is no load-order manager to configure; ReSkate loads what you enable. When a mod misbehaves, toggle it off the same way rather than deleting it, so you can retry after the next update.
Keeping a mod list working across updates
Mods break in two situations: ReSkate itself updates, or EA ships a new skate. build. Both change the internals mods hook into. When something breaks, update ReSkate first, then check each mod's page for a matching release, then re-test one mod at a time. Loading half a dozen stale mods together makes it impossible to tell which one crashed the session.
The updates page tracks current ReSkate release notes, and the troubleshooting guide covers the standard crash-and-error fixes when an update is not the culprit.
