ReSkate v2.0.7 shipped on October 12, 2026, and if you run mods or host a server you should update this week. This post covers what the release includes, who needs to act, and the update routine that keeps a modded setup from breaking.

What is in v2.0.7

The release page carries the full component set, which tells you the shape of the update:

  • ReSkateLauncher.exe — the Windows launcher players install.
  • ReSkate.dll — the runtime that loads into skate.
  • ReSkateServer — dedicated server builds for both Windows (zip) and Linux (tar.gz).
  • launcher.json — the version manifest the components read.

All three component lines moving together is the pattern to watch: it means platform, client, and hosting setups all need the same version number to talk to each other. If your dedicated server runs an older release than the players joining it, joins fail in ways that look like network trouble but are not.

Do you need to do anything

If the launcher opens and updates itself on start, you are likely done already. The cases that need manual attention:

  1. Server hosts: stop the server, replace the server files with the v2.0.7 archive for your OS, start it. Two minutes of work.
  2. Steam Deck players: your launcher is a non-Steam game entry, so self-update can silently fail. Re-download the launcher from the official GitHub releases and replace the file; our Steam Deck guide walks the whole path.
  3. Everyone after a skate. update: if EA shipped a new game build since your last session, update ReSkate first and re-test before assuming anything broke. The troubleshooting guide has the full order of checks.

The version-matching rule, one more time

Nearly every "ReSkate stopped working" report in a release week traces to one thing: the game build, the ReSkate release, and the mods enabled were built at three different times. The fix order never changes. Update ReSkate to the newest release, let the game update if it wants to, then bring mods and maps to their current versions one at a time. Two minutes of that beats an hour of reinstalling.

We track every release on the updates page, and the download guide covers clean installs if you are starting fresh.
